Watershed Partners Page

At this time, please open the “Partners” page from the Upper Sevier site. You should be able to alternately bring this page forward to read this text and bring the Partners page forward to look at the features being described. If your screen resolution is high enough you may be able to see both of these pages side by side.

The “Partners” page varies somewhat on each web site as of the end of December 2002. We expect additional information to clarify the role of each partner in each watershed to be expanded in the future. We feel it is important for users of the web sites to understand the contribution that each partner provides to watershed restoration. These examples should result in additional community partners who want to get involved in providing similar efforts. For example, some partners may provide funding or equipment supplies for projects. Others may provide people for work projects. Others may provide organizational support, GIS and map services, training, or educational opportunities. The specific type of partner support is both interesting and important for the community to understand if individuals, business, or organizations want to make similar contributions.

Almost all of the watershed partners in the Upper Sevier Watershed project for example, have web sites and links have been made which allow a web site user to visit these sites for much more information. The Pit River Watershed Alliance site contains similar links to partner web sites. The Coalition for the Upper South Platte watershed site provided additional text information about how major partners contribute to the watershed project.

The Conasauga River Alliance and Potomac Watershed Partnership web sites provided Mountain Visions with additional color logos and a brief description about the special involvement several partner organizations have had with restoration projects. These logos, a link to the web site and this brief description are included on these web sites. Several other partners are also noted on the Conasauga River Alliance page, but more information and web site addresses have not been provided to some of these yet.

Note that other web pages you visit in this detailed overview of the on-line workshop may have some of the same page elements described above. Generally these will not be described again on each page. To get a good understanding of all of these features it will be imperative to visit all of the pages in this Detailed Overview section in the order given.
