  Beaver play an important role in water management and stream channel processes, and can greatly influence the amount and types of vegetation adjacent to streams. Research has shown that healthy riparian systems can often improve water delivery downstream by temporarily storing water in adjacent soils and releasing it over time rather than during peak run-off periods. Beaver also create habitat for numerous other fish and wildlife species. |
