Although numerous clumps of Blue lupine and Indian paintbrush are seen throughout this area, much of the watershed has experienced a decrease in tall forb communities. Grazing and fire suppression, followed be an increase in pinyon-juniper woodlands, have left soils throughout the watershed unable to support this community type. These wildflower are valued for their scenic beauty and also serve as important soil stabilizers and forage for wildlife and domestic animals. |
