The Sevier River is one of the most utilized rivers in the United States. Diversion of water in the basin began in the late 1800’s and continues today. The river provides irrigation water for farms and ranches, opportunities for fishing and recreation, and drinking water for users downstream. These past and present uses, along with naturally occurring events, helped shape the river we see today.
