Lars Fork Channel Stabilization
Lars Fork, a tributary to Strawberry Creek, supports a large wet meadow complex, and provides an example of how poor riparian conditions in one area have a “domino” effect in another area. During recent years, Strawberry Creek has been heavily grazed, and damage to this creek probably resulted in the large downcuts and headcuts in the two upper Lars Fork meadows. Revegetation, cattle exclusions and streambank stabilizations were completed 1998-2000. To provide livestock with water, permanent water troughs will be installed outside the exclosure.
