Three Mile Creek demonstrates how working together can result in dramatic improvements to stream ecosystems. Once a shallow stream with few shrubs and trees adjacent to it, the Three Mile Creek riparian pasture has been cooperatively managed by livestock permittees, state, and federal agencies since 1990. As a result, the stream channel has narrowed and deepened, once again providing habitat for native Bonneville cutthroat trout. The pasture also provides forage for livestock, and quality habitat for numerous wildlife species.
