This project is exemplary of the cooperative nature of projects within the Upper Sevier River Watershed. Livestock permittees and cooperators made application to the State of Utah, Department of Energy, and obtained funding to build the Coyote Hollow windmill. Energy from the windmill is used to pump water into the holding pond. Some of the water is then pumped from this site to three livestock and wildlife watering troughs and to a storage tank at an equestrian use campground nearby. Dedicated hunters built the fence surrounding the pond, to help distribute livestock and wildlife away from the pristine riparian area. |
