More than 350 fish and wildlife species live in the Upper Sevier Watershed. Wildlife of special interest includes bald eagle, Utah prairie dog, peregrine falcon, three-toed woodpecker, northern goshawk, sage grouse, Townsends big-eared bat, and boreal toad. World-class hunting opportunities for mule deer and Rocky Mountain elk can be found along with pronghorn antelope and black bear. Fish species include native Bonneville cutthroat trout as well as rainbow and brook trout.
Sixteen species of rare plants are also found within the watershed. Several of these plants only grow on habitats associated with unique rock formations. The watershed is also home to the largest population of Arizona willow a unique species found in Arizona, Colorado and Utah.
