The Upper Sevier Watershed is characterized by forests of aspen and conifer intermingled with lush meadows and stream corridors. Not surprisingly, these areas are highly sought for recreation, grazing, agriculture, and timber. As more people utilize the forests for a wider variety of goods and services, forest ecosystem management involves taking human needs into consideration, while still maintaining biodiversity and ecological processes. Social goals, environmental quality and economic health are all inextricably interlinked, and are integral to long-term forest sustainability within the watershed.
