Cameron Wash Channel Stabilization

A cattle exclosure and stabilization of 2 downcut gullies will reduce sediment flow in this portion of the watershed. Although, this project was not considered “high priority,” because the gullies are typically dry, it will serve as a reference station to document future restoration efforts. Sometimes natural resource managers must test new ideas – just because something looks good on paper, doesn’t mean it will always work as planned! Biologists will monitor this area over the next several years, taking pictures, making calculations and documenting changes, and then will apply this knowledge to other resource projects. Portions of the Great Western ATV and hiking trail can be accessed near this site.
