Willow planting and fencing at the Hatch Ranch, near Hatch, Utah, exemplify how sportsmen and landowners can work together to achieve positive results. Using EPA nonpoint source funds for fencing and dedicated hunters and local high school students for willow planting, this section of Mammoth Creek will see better fish reproduction and a decrease in downstream sediment transport. Tom Hatch, landowner, and member of the State of Utah House of Representatives has also worked with Utah Division of Wildlife Resources to provide limited sportsman access and special fly fishing regulations to enhance the Mammoth Creek fishery.
