Riparian improvement projects, like those conducted along Mammoth Creek, help decrease sediment transport downstream and into the Upper Sevier River. Numerous landowners, in cooperation with U.S. Forest Service and Utah Department of Natural Resources have planted willows, sloped back stream banks, and stabilized stream meanders. Such efforts have resulted in an increase in natural recruitment of brook and brown trout, as well as increased fishing opportunities for anglers.
