Casto Bowl Catchment Basins
Throughout the watershed, erosion control structures help to decrease sediment transport. The Casto Bowl catchment pond, located in Corral Hollow, was rebuilt in 2001 as a headcut control structure. Water in the pond can be used for livestock and wildlife and because of the new structure, erosion will decrease in the Red Canyon, Corral Hollow tributary. Upper Sevier River Community partners, recognizing the increased need for quality watershed management, anticipate many other such projects as the Upper Sevier Community Watershed Project progresses.
