High road densities, improper road design and location, lack of maintenance, and increased motorized/non-motorized recreation contribute to degradation in water quality and decreased habitat for terrestrial and aquatic wildlife. In addition, as more and more visitors look to the watershed for quality outdoor experiences, excessive trails and roads deter from the scenic and recreational value of the area.
The location of the watershed in Utahs Color Country, proximity to a number of national parks, and its high visibility along the tourist corridor add significant regional, national, and international interests in maintaining the naturalness of this watershed, while allowing its access for recreation and sight-seeing.
