West Fork Hunt Creek Overlook

Although riparian areas along West Fork Hunt Creek were impacted by the Sanford Fire, many upland areas remain intact. Existing plant communities up and down the drainage provide habitat for plants and animals, and also help control erosion within the watershed. However, in some instances, these intact communities may be in need of fire just as much as other areas, and will most likely experience such an event, perhaps after currently burned areas have recovered. The dynamics of plant and animal communities within the Great Basin Ecosystem makes this a unique, exciting, but fragile area to visit.
