West Fork Hunt Creek
Fish Killed in East Fork Upper Sevier

Downstream effects of ash and sediment from West Fork Hunt Creek resulted in partial fish kills in the East Fork Sevier River.

Although most habitat and fish populations will gradually re-establish over the next several years, recovery will depend on how fast ground cover establishes within the watershed and how precipitation occurs – as gentle rain or intense thunderstorms.

Cottonwood, rabbitbrush, river birch, willow, woods rose, chokecherry and numerous grasses and forbs are already sprouting along riparian areas.
